My name is Alex Szipocs, I am 17, and I enjoy making creations with videos that myself and others record and sync to music. It’s a bit different than what a lot of people in my art classes do so I’ve mostly only ever worked alone on these projects. I’m not the best artist but I do like to draw and write in my free time.

In my experience, I have used multiple programs inside and outside of school. At school I have learned how to use Photoshop, Flash and we have done some After Effects which I already new how to use from practice at home along with Sony Vegas Pro 13.0. In middle school I was never really into art but towards the end of freshman year I started to drop my sports and get more into writing and artistry. I loved music when I was younger so at home I taught myself how to use Sony Vegas and started syncing some gaming clips from games I would play to music. I kept practicing and myself along with some others think I have gotten pretty good. I still make these videos for fun and post them on Youtube to show to some of my friends online. I started to get into After Effects a little bit but didn’t really enjoy it like I did Sony Vegas, so I chose to stick to the program I am better with and enjoy.

In the future I may pursue video/movie editing and production and may try to edit music videos for people. I will probably look for and apply to a college with some kind of Video Editing programs such as Boston University or Florida state. I think being able to take music and video and create something from the two is amazing and I would love to edit and produce them for myself and others to enjoy.

I think that editing these videos lets me express what I like to do as well as the type of music I enjoy listening to. Not only that but taking a normal video and adding a Color Correction and Effects is just fun to mess with and personalize for the song choice or style of the edit I am doing; because it’s a way to edit something the way I want it edited. In the future I understand that I won’t be able to edit everything just for fun or my enjoyment, but I hope to be able to enjoy doing what I love to do now. I also hope to further my progress to becoming what I want to be through this Animation class.
